Recently a colleague of mine from Finland turned me on to a couple Fly Fishing forums from his country. One has awesome traditional salmon patterns submitted by members and the other has trout patterns from nymphs to streamers. Below are the links with a quick tutorial. Just thought I’d pass them along for those interested. Check out the salmon patterns they’re killer!

Here select from "Perhon tyyppi" dropdown box "Lohiperho" (that means lohi=salmon perho=fly i.e. salmon fly)
then press button "Hae" ("Search"), you should get a long list of salmon flies. This site is like forum where tiers can submit their own flies.

Here is just mixed list of different types of flies. I think you can recognize for example Emergentit == Emergents, Larvat = Larva, Leechit = Leeches, Nymfit= nymphs, Pintaperhot = floating flies

Spanishfly, very great site. I was in fact looking at Atlantic Salmon patterns last night on various other sites. If it wasn't for your directions, I would be lost. Thanks!!!

Wish they had an english version of those sites, although I could try the Babel fish translator.

I like the presentation of this one http://perhorasia.fi/Fly/Fly.thtml?flyID=13787

Just watch out before you pick it up and take a bite.
