Beehive is a put and take, on July 5th it turns to a C&R. You should have had your rod with you, the fishing should be good in the early morning and late evening.
Check the regs for openers and closing dates.
I haven't fished Beehive in a few years, I have been fishing (Black) or Lower Wheeler. It has the same rules.
Not bragging but Sharon and I have had some 100+ fish days this year. 90+ released to fight again or get caught by a bait pitcher or poacher.

iagree i made a post a little while ago in the reports with pics area. an olive bugger. :thumb:
It used to be closed after July 5, and then they left it open to C&R till the end of the year. When they first made that change I used to fish it a few times during the summer and fall, and it was a blast. However as time went on more and more people were there, and more and more people fishing against the rules--bait, keeping fish, etc., and fishing noticabley declined. Don't know if that's still thh case or not.
Going up there on opening day (or near then) and putting a tube out and just pounding the fish while all the bait-chuckers watch in disbelief is also kinda fun. Kinda. I've actually had line (and what must have been a 1/2 oz of weight) thrown over me and the line land on me. Couldn't tell if it was incompetence of malicousness...a tough call with the opening-day crowds at a put-n-take lake.

Black was like that in the early season. From the canoe we could stay far enough out to not get cast into.
Black is much bigger lake and you have to walk in a little way.
The bait chuckers would get pissed and leave when we were laughing and putting 99% back.
Also a fun lake later before it closes.

clear lake in wenatchee is also a great little lake. 20 mins south of beehive, and has alot more hold-over's.

Clear lake? I'll have to look at my map but it takes 20 mins just to get back to the pavement from Beehive, but I'm old and slow.
Again I'll have to check my map, but I think Clear was just a mud hole last fall. no live fish, Lilly still had some brookies in Sept. but not much water either.
Salmon, Trout, Steelheader, I remember your post this spring, the olive bugger is a killer fly for these little lakes.
Shoot me a pm when your coming over, BS and beer.

I just fished there last week out of a pontoon and there was probably about 10 bank fishermen with bait. I was cruising around the shore casting wooleys into about 3 feet of water and catching fish almost every cast. The bankies were not happy.
We pulled out around 30 minutes before dark and as we hopped into the truck I noticed the surface was boiling. I will be back there again for some evening fishing.

O.K. if ya say so about Clear lake. Some trips were planted in there last spring.
Sharon and I stopped by Beehive Saturday before last 8-25-07 and the fishing was great.
Many cutts up to 13" a few RB's up to 13" and a 1/2 dozen little Browns up to 8"
Went back Sunday and did the same but caught more RB's than cutts and only one 6" brown.
Stopped last Sunday after looking high and low for grouse and caught a few cutts and a 10" brown.
Picked up a big bag of trash and got a little pissy about that and the fresh looking power bait bottles.
Some folks just can't figure it out.

I'm glad to see you caught a few browns. I caught one last time I was up there and when we got back to shore I was the only one who caught one. I thought I was losing my vision.

Your vision is not the only thing you're losing:beer2:
