View Full Version : Brown's Point 8/2/07
Different beach on a different day = same results.
This morning we decided to try Brown’s Point. The results: Two Silvers and one Pink.
I haven’t even changed my fly yet, still fishing the same ‘Bozo’ colored Shock and Awe.

Bozo always kind of scared me. Captain Kangaroo was a much safer place for me as a child...

Hey Anil how long are those bozo flies you are using? Thanks.
Clint

The n sound has been appently much slower lately. But I did manage to catch a nice little coho this morning (camera phone pic in my gallery). No sign of any pinks.

I fished off golden gardens yesterday and saw one salmon, guessing pink roll and that was it, very few boats out as well, fewer than usual anyhow!
I need a stripping basket! That is for damn sure!!

Sound like you did better then I did while fishing last night. Bobbed in the waves enough fishing last night that the kayak had quite a bit of water in it when I pulled it back on to the beach. Had salad on the fly almost every two minutes when trolling and 3 out of 4 times when casting. The only strike I had fishing from 7 PM till 9 PM was just as a large wave lifted the kayak up high making a hook set not going to happen since I was having to just hang on. Not sure where all the wave action at the beach I was at, was coming from since there seemed to be no wind and there was no boats going by other then at a trolling speed. Tide was moving pretty well so that was most likely part of it. Saw no bait fish at all on this beach that normally even in winter will have a few around and that has been a great Coho spot Spring, Summer and Fall for me the past few years.
Still the sun set was nice and I paddled enough to burn up the King Salmon dinner Amie had made for me before I went out and its has shown me that things are still slow and I need to be able to pick up and move quicker to a new beach so the kayaks most likely will stay in the garage this weekend and the Seaswirl will take to the water. It was also nice to have the water all to myself without any one else fishing even close to me including my fishing partner who decided to stay home for a change and catch up on some house work.

About 2.5" long. You can see it to scale in this picture:

Just to give you an idea, that fish weighed about 25 lbs.
