Thanks for the help.

I like that chennile-extended-body Golden Stonefly adult.
That's a good looking fly.

I make a similar one with yellow closed-cell foam.
Yours has better proportions than mine. I'll have to
work on it.

Nice flies. I like the extended body flies. It'd be neat to see how they ride in the water. I'm not sure how much the addition of an egg sac would change effectiveness, but it could probably be done with a magic marker.

I'm a fan of the sunken stone pattern (pic below). I'm trying to create one that is articulated, but I can't find a decent light wire connection (LaFontaine's flex hook idea).

An old friend showed me some articulated flies he had made, they were cool.
I'm thinking if you used a straight eye hook say a 12 and put the hook through the eye of a 14? Can you see where I'm going.
Tiny swivels ?
Fun to experiment.

Yes moose.
Anyone know where to get polypropylene yarn? There is a pattern that calls for poly yarn.
And thanks, now if the Montana trout will hit'em

I got a bunch a while back at my local fabric store. It is basically the really cheap all synthetic yarn. It makes nice extended bodies that are easy to form since you can use a lighter and burn one end to keep it from unraveling.
