Well since my mouth was still hurting this morning from yesterday's dentist visit, I ended up hitting the water later in the day. I orginally planned on hitting Mukilteo area at 6am, but after driving down there around 1pm and not being able to get a parking spot, my son and I decided to try picinic point. Well after awhile of fishing and nothing to show for it we decided to walk back to our truck. I've yet to figure this beach out. I've hit early, mid day, late day. I've also done early, mid, and late ebb and flood tides. Nothing!!!!!!
But I got to aleast get a line wet. It wasn't all bad I met a nice gentleman who was just leaving and he had nothing going after his flies and there was a couple there also and they didn't get any either. I did see some fish (I think baitfish) breaking the surface within 30ft from me, but didn't get any hits. Was using chart/white, pink/white clousers and ended with a white gb wooleybugger.
I was amazed at the abundance of red rocks hiding partially under seaweed. I had to literally watch my step so that I didn't "crack" any. At one point while I was standing on a submerged boulder I counted 6 red rocks laying around the boulder within a 5ft. diameter circle.
Here is a picture of a jellyfish we came upon. We've never seen them this big. I put my magnum #8 for size comparison. I'm also assuming that the color is from sitting in the sun during the low tide.
Will try our first plan in the morn...
