330 gr lengths [Archive] - Washington Fly Fishing

OK, new to Spey and I bought a 11gr/ft 7/8ips 30ft=330gr. I was told that it should be cut to different lengths and attach to the line for various conditions. What would be some recommended lengths to have these made at.???

I'd cut it in half. I like 15' sink tips, and that stuff will get your fly down on the rocks just about anywhere.

15', 10' and 5' lengths. This will give you quite a range of 'choices' based on the water you're standing in front of at any given point in time.
