I have one (the 12.5' 7 wt) and I like it very much. I have several other spey rods though I am not much of a caster yet. I feel like it is a little quicker than some of the other, more proven, low priced speys (TFO, ECHO classic) so that may be good or bad depending on your style. If you are looking for a traditional rod for long belly casting it may not be the best, but for short head or scandinavian style casting I think you will be pleased. I have been using the Rio Windcutter 7/8/9 on it and it works well but I suspect that 6/7/8 may be a better match- for my casting style anyway. I have just ordered a Rio AFS 7/8 shooting head for it as well. I can't speak for the other rods in the series, but I think that for the price, you will not be disappointed. The rods are finished nicely.
That is my non-expert review.

Is there really a scranton, PA? Don't know much about their spey rods but most LL bean rods I've found to be a pleasant surprise. And the price is amazing. Does the thing have any sort of warrenty. ?

Bean pretty much stands behind anything they sell. I would be shocked if they didn't replace it or refund your money if you ever asked, for any reason.

All LL Bean products have a lifetime guarantee, and I've always had great luck with their products. I used to go to the LL Bean Flagship Store in the middle of the night with my college buddies, because it was the only place in Maine that's open 24/7.
