What a wonderful two days we have had. It was great to see everyone down on the river. The weather was beautiful, and it was wonderful to be with all of the members of the clan.

We do apologize for our apparent lack of attention, however being offline for six-weeks cut into our normal flow of communication. The overwhelming support of the Spey community is greatly appreciated.

Thanks to Dan, Brian, Mike and Chuck for great presentations. Thanks to Gary Thayer for the retrieving the BBQ. A special thanks for my girls, son-in-laws, grandson and granddaughter. As you see or know or understand my family takes care of me during the Speyfair.

Thanks to generous donations of all, there will be a donation to Speed-the-Light.

My viewpoint on this year's speyfair. I attended somewhat cocky that I have at least swung a two handed rod a few times to somewhat seperate me from the beginners but not make me even close to an expert caster. I was very wrong and was one of two beginners there.

The teachings were great. Everyone really extended themselves to assist me and I really thought at one point they would be like "****, he should just put the two hander down and stick with a single." All of the instructors really did a great job in giving everyone special attention and I just want to thank you all. The food was great, the conversations great and just to see all the people interested in spey, made it that much more fun.

There was a downside to this event. A very deep and dark downside and that was to have cast a Bob Meiser and/or a Burkie. That made me want to buy one right then since seeing Mike Kinney cast it effortlessly and then seeing how the rod even perfomed in my hands, made me want to justify buying one more rod. I will play with my stick for now since I do love it and once I get it lined perfectly, it will do well and will be a great learning tool.

I want to give a special thanks to Aaron(SPEYBUM) and his wonderful family for even making this possible. I also want to thank those that I met from this site as well as speypages.com to finally shake your hands and put faces to your names/alias's.

Thanks Aaron,
I think I really mastered my tailing loops at this event. (We shall see! :D)
Also, sure was fun playing with all those rods even that Zpey rod!
