Has anyone used a pontoon at Victor by hwy302? I have a new Scadden 11', two men, and I'm dying to use it in the Sound, so that I don't have to deal with shuttle. And the beach at Victor seems to be safe. Thanks

Pal, I have a 10' Skookum Osprey II that I have fished across the bay at Allyn. I launch at the public ramp and row down to Sherwood Creek during the Chum run. I think the Victor path is pretty narrow. You also run the risk of a long pull up the beach during a low tide. Pay attention to the tide and the wind. Other than that, a good PFD and you should have not problem.

I have used shorter 'toons (8-9ft) quite often off the local beaches. Be sure to give the thing a thorough washdown after each use, and pay attention to the important variables like weather, wind ,tides and currents for the area you will be floating. Try to use the tides/wind to move you in a favorable direction, and like the man said above, wear a good PFD.
