Preparing Deer Hair - Help

Just wondering if anyone has any advise.

My wife shot a doe this fall and I was trying to dry the hide for tying. I thought I got most of the fat etc off, salted it and left it in a cold garage to dry. Turns out the roof leaked on it and when I went back to look it has some maggots and a little mold on those thin back muscles. :beathead:

Is this a lost cause now or is there anything I can do to save it.

Any help would be appreciated,

well i doubt the maggots will hurt it as they will likely just take the meat. The mold would be my concern.
I would cut the hide up into smaller sections and use borax on it and put it in ziploc bags.
