My take on the Beats Me

The book I'm reading has the only other picture of this fly I have seen (the other was on the now defunt Twin Rivers Flyfishing website). I've always found it attractive. Though oddly I have never fished it. I will next fall. Not this one, it goes in the display box. Head is unfinished in this picture.

I've enjoyed fishing this fly for years, ever since I watched one take a big wild fish on the Snake.

The dry-side steelies seem to really like this fly - I've also had good luck with it on the 'Ronde.

BTW, nice tie. I like the longer grizzly you used.

Thanks! I used phesant rump (Ringneck) instead of the grizzly so I could get longer hackles.
