My brother in law lives on a certain lake that the swans go to every night, they spend the night there preening feathers on his dock, assuming they are waterproof any feathers worthwhile for tying?

I think you can use them to make strip wings, but I've never used them myself.

Swan is used for tying Atlantic Salmon patterns. They dye up nicely and make great married wings.

Send me a large bag and I will let you know if they are any good......:thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb:

The shoulder feathers are the ones you want for married or strip wing flies. And yes, it is legal to use them for fishing flies and lures.
