I will be fishing Pass on the 30th, and Lone on the 31st. Anybody been out to either one recently? I'm really wondering if Pass is frozen. Any info would be great. Thanks.

It isn't cold enough to freeze on the top it's 39 degrees there. If you want frozen lakes just come to anywhere east of the Cascades Even as far as the Continental Divide where you can drive on to the lakes now.

Some more usless info.

Its been super crappy out here lately. Wind and rain like a motherfugger. Fish are still being caught though.

Fishing at Lone is slow but there are fish to be had if you don't mind the cold and the crappy weather. Forecasts for the next several days is rain/snow/wind.

Went to Pass a.m. Xmas. Very cold and nasty. caught fish. Xmas lights on boat was a hit with tourists on hiway. See you A.M. New Years!

Dave I wish I would have seen your drift boat all lit up on the lake that had to be cool.

It's customary to "leave up the lights" till after the first. Maybe I'll leave em on for one more outing. It seems to attract fish. Bring your buggers and fish them very slow, on the bottom. Bloodworms dead drifted in the wind has also been very affective for me. fish-on

last time i was on pass (12/17) the weather was cooperating and the fish weren't too bad either. we caught 3 bows. it hasn't been cold enough for it to freeze.

I have never seen ice on Pass lake - granted, I don't spent lots of time there. Fished it on Friday (12/28). Water temp was around 40 degrees (made for cold feet after about 4 hours). Catching was slow but tolerable. Made an otter siting and actually got a pic of the little bastidge.

UncleDave, did u c the episode of south park when kenny had a seizure from the colors of the pokemon game? I fear the surface of Pass will be littered with seizured, dead fish with only your multicolored drift boat to blame. I'm super serial.

I don't have time to watch South Park, must fish...Went to Pass A.M. sunday. Swirling winds made it impossible to cast more than 40 feet. Couldn't troll in drift boat, struggled for two hours and gave up. First skunk at Pass for Dave in a long time. Did see some chironomid husks about size 12 near shoal at Puker Point.

I have a buddy who just got back from the gulf (injured) that I am taking out to Pass Lake tomorrow to see if fly fishing is something he is going to be able to do.

If you see a 14' green Outcast with a couple casting platforms that would be us.
