I was talking to another forum member, and he mentioned his search for a line for his One-Weight rod. His comment was that he found only one choice, and none of the "better lines" were available in this weight. I looked and found a pretty good Spring Creek floater that would be fine for lakes. Before you gasp!, these modern graphite rods have alot of backbone, and can land a lake caught trout fairly easily, and are a lot of fun to fish for risers. Anybody know what companys have lines available in this weight, or do you just overline with a 2-3?

I fish the sage quiet double taper II 1wt - it's a pretty good line.
I know that there are at least a couple of lines from Rio - you can find a 1wt double taper in the Classic series, and I heard that one of their new lines for '08 has starts at 1wt for the weight forward.

http://www.byrdultrafly.com/budgrods.htm ....for the rods in this article, he talks about which lines load well but he often mentions that it's trial and error.
Orvis also sells a couple variety of 1wt lines
Hope that helps.

Sage offers the only 1 weight I could find in the newest Cabela's catalog. I have caught several Pass lake bruisers on my 1 weight, casting to evening rises and surface cruisers on late summer evenings. I can't wait....
