Anyone have this pattern, and if so would you mind sharing? I did a search but found zip.
This pattern is also a Craig black fly?
Any help appreciated.

Is this a streamer fly??? Legendary Joe Brooks used to tie a series of "Blonde" flies.
Could it be the "Stacked Blonde"?
I can help if thats the case.
Try doing a Google on that one:eek:

As Far as I know, this is a dry and not a streamer.
I googled it, and got not much. It is funny if you goto Google images and type "california blonde" but don't do it at work, unless you own the company...

The only white blonde dry fly that I know of is the Blonde Wulff as dressed by Dan Baily of Livingston, Montana.
Another "Blonde" was designed by Joe Brooks, noted fishing writer and saltwater flyfishing pioneer in the days when Field & Stream, Outdoor Life and Sports Afield were monthly magazines loaded with great articles and a legion of superb monthly columnists.
He did design a popular Blonde series. There was the Platinum, Argentine, Pink and other Blonde patterns. I'm not sure about the white one. As I recall the pattern it was tied as follows:
Tail: long, white bucktail
Body: Silver tinsel
Wing: Long white bucktail
I fished the Argenine Blonde at Neah Bay many years ago. It had a white tail, silver tinsel and a blue top wing. I tied it on a #2 hook. It took a few coho.

Brain Thomas: Bingo........You put in pcitures what I too have known to the the "California Blonde". Like I said under the still water post, this has actually been very effective under the right conditions. When it's on, it's on. When it's not you may as well be throwing old tires on your line. Learned from repeated take downs on this pattern: Don't lift right away as you would instinctively do, let fish take it and almost hook itself. Patience grasshopper, patience. Hope you have more than me.:thumb:
