I am about to try my hand at tying some saltwater epoxy flies for the first time and I am seeking any advise or words of wisdom on the "how to", 'what not to do" and "little known tricks to or tools to make it easier" from you experienced epoxy fly tyers. I have been tying flies and building fly rods for several years so I am not a complete novice. So what is your advise?? :ray1:

Before you put the epoxy on, put the eyes on first. That way the eyes are securly on. It also gives the fly a more realistic look (personal thought). I hope this helps.

I put a little layer of epoxy on then set the eyes in and then put another layer on.

Use Devcon. If they are flies you will expect to have a long time, and don't want yellowing, use the 2 ton. The 5 minute will work great, and seems to yellow less quickly than other brands.
Devcon, baby. That's the word.
