Had a great day of fishing with Coach Duff off Oahu. Caught one bone 30 inches long and 8 lbs. Not too bad for first time out bone fishing!:thumb:
We saw over 20 bones. One would have been a world record if you could only catch him. Also had a shot at a nice trevally. Saw a 6 foot black tip shark about 50 yards out. Cool!

Did your guide fish with you or help you spot fish. Did you guys blind cast all day or sight fish.

Our guide did not fish with us. He did help spot the fish. To start the day we blind casted to a lane in the coral. Then we stalked the flats during high tide.

Thanks for the info, I haven't used a guide the last few time I have gone. My buddies down there right now and he is doing pretty good. When I have fished on Oahu I fished with Lars and was happy. I have seen some guides fishing with clients and I would rather not blind cast. Just my thing, I don't mind a guide fishing if the client asked, which I always do. But when there is a client that needs the help and support its not cool. Its good to here Duff doesn't. Good luck to everyone going.
