I am just curious to see what people use to bond rabbit strips together, on say a double bunny.... I use super glue, but it just seems to make the fly stiffer than what I would like.
Any suggestions?

Tear Mender. Some fly shops carry (I know Feather-Craft does), or you may find it at a dept. store or sewing shop. Just started using it today on some Double Bunnies, and it is really nice to work with. Bonds the two pieces together pretty much instantly, so make sure you line them up right on the first try.

I use a generous coating of Dave's Fleximent (not thinned). I don't have a ton of experience but when I started tying doubles I tested it out and so far so good. Seems to hold together pretty well.

I used to use superglue, and switched to Goop. Its viscosity makes it a bit of a pain to work with, but I just use a bodkin to grab a manageable amount. Great bond with no loss of suppleness.

Tear Mender is awesome for a lot of things. I've sealed holes in waders, mended rips in shorts, and even made tails for flies with it. If you just pour some out on a plastic lid or something of that nature and let it dry. Makes a great tadpole tail. It definitely works for rabbit too.

Totally agree, bonds great and will not stiffen the bunny.

Didn't know about this Tear Mender stuff. I'll have to get some.
Caddishatch, it also helps to shave/peel a lot of the skin away from the hide first. I like to get that skin real thin before gluing them together; makes for a much softer double bunny tail.
