I have been thinking of building a pontoon boat. The only problem is I can't find anyplace to buy a set of toons to buy so I can start. Can somebody tell me where I can find bladders and casings for sale. I am looking for some that will take a beating on 4 and 5 rapids.

It depends on how much you want to spend and what you length boat you want to build. Sotar sells some awesome tubes www.sotar.com but they can be spendy. check out the hot deals page.

If you want to go cheap get a pair of maxxon tubes.

Go SOTAR all the way. If you're spending the $$ to go custom, put the best tubes under the frame. You won't go wrong with SOTAR.

But if you're looking for tubes, it's EASY to find them just about anywhere on the net. Cascade Outfitters, NRS, and SOTAR have websites with ways to buy tubes (the first two you can buy a variety of makers on them, SOTAR's site you'll only be buying SOTAR from them).

Most serious, whitewater-grade tubes are bladderless. Their tough material is airtight with double skid strips on the top and bottom making them much more resistant to punctures or abrasion than the lighter and cheaper bladder-in-casing tubes you're probably used to. But that technology doesn't come cheap. Expect to pay about $600-$700 new for a pair of Maxxon 10x20s.

If you're set on buying bladder-in-casing tubes, you might try contacting an Outcast dealer to see if he can order them for you.

have you clicked on the link i posted???? under the FAQ section, you will find ALL of the information you need regarding tube construction and the benefits of the various processes. keep in mind there are only 3 or 4 domestic builders of tubes, all the rest are produced off shore. several of the commercially available 'fishing' CATS use these offshore tubes so be carefull out there, you want the very best if you are counting on your boat to get you through the unexpected. (hint: check out the valve systems they are using)
