Take a look at the WDFW stocking report and that should give you some suggestions.

iagree Start there by breaking down the lakes by county. You live in Snohomish County, so that should give you plenty to start with. Then, look for the most interesting set of fish plants. Then you get your Gazetteer and figure out which lakes are closet to where you live. Then ask yourself: Which lakes look to be about the right size? You can double check the size by surfing over to Washingtonlakes.com. There, you can find maps of the bottom contours and depths, which will let you know which lakes have the best carry-over potential for bigger fish. Deeper the lake, better summer survival for the trout. There you go. Go fish!

Terry Rudnick's Washington Fishing can be a useful book to cross-reference with your atlas, though I don't know the last time the info has been updated. The copy I once worked out of has a Y2K copyright and is no longer with the times. The newest edition should be fine. I think there is another book along the same lines you can find that might be as useful. I just wish I could recall the name.

Anyway, it's important to do your homework. I just revealed everything I did in the past that helped me find some perfect float tube lakes within my driving tolerance. I mean, sure, we could tell you all kinds of names, but you will still need your maps and books to help you decide between them all--as well as discover your own "best" lake.

Get going, son. The world is your oyster!

Hey! Didn't I already write up all this before to you? Get cracking, kid!

I tell you what: Here's a bone. Have you tried Ronald Bog, just off the 175th exit off of I-5, in Shoreline? I've seen lots of fish rise there before. And it's about as small of a tube-able lake as you can find. There's also a city park there. Very small, but with parking.

Send us a report after you fish there.
