pontoon material

I just purchased two pontoons to build a boat. I was wondering if someone knew of someplace to buy pontoon material locally, to make skid guards. the pontoons were a steelheader prototype and didn't have the extra material. I am sure they would be fine without it but "bigger, faster, stronger, is always better," right. Any info would be helpful.
