RE: Green Lake - are you too proud?
Fished Green Lake Saturday morning in my float tube. Made a couple passes along the outside of the willows along the south-east shore down to the crew 'grandstands'... It was a cloudy and cool morning, and I saw no rises or any chironomids coming off. I caught one planted rainbow (16") on an olive wooley bugger on a sink-tip cast right under the willows. Fish had milfoil and a maple tree seed in its stomach...no bugs. I wonder if it would have made it...
It actually was a pleasant morning and quiet on the water. Behind the willows, the walkers could not really talk to me very much...

RE: Green Lake - are you too proud?
Fished GL Saturday around Noon until around 3:30 out on the dock by the boat rentals. Noticed a trout surging on my green bodied woolley bugger. Later switched to a chartreuse Carey Special and hooked up to a fat 15" rainbow just before my leader hit my rod tip guide. After releasing the fish, I switched to various other flies to pester the carp--all to no avail.
I go down to GL only for quick and dirty fixes. Considering how "green spoogie" can collect on the lake, I hesitate to put my tube and waders into that mystery stuff--least I contaminate some other lake that I have some kind of emotional attachment to.
