    RE: Pink Rubber Worms?

Steelhead and dollies love pink worms and furry imitations.

"Take nothing but pictures leave nothing but your tracks"

Hey Matt bet a 1/16 oz jig with a nice big pink rubber worm on it drifted with the spey rod would be castable and would drive them crazy. ;)

Reminds me when I was a 12 year old with my first fly rod we used salmon eggs and then garden worms for trout on the dead drift and would wait for the bump, bump from the hatchery trout back east.

I do have a pack of the bubble gum rubber worms I bought two years ago but have not had the guts to use them yet, but I could get that desparate soon. }( Just don't want any witnesses around if the event occurs. LOL

    RE: Pink Rubber Worms?

You know, I am going to live out this pink worm thing vicariously through my girlfriend. She will cast with a fly rod until she gets frustrated and then stop. Since I want her to keep a line in the water (can’t stand the thought of wasting a good fishing license ) I’m going to pull one of my rods out of my museum and try the jig with a float thing. That way, she can work them pools with back eddies that most fly casters, like me, can’t figure out how to work. My problem is I have never strung up a gear rod for Steelhead. Don’t have clue what to do, but I’ll figure it out.

LOL, Keep us updated. BTW, I have never seen any one in the GLs use them but I think they will work and specifically for our skamania summer runs which are very aggressive and hot fish.

That worm drifting in fast flow has enticing movement and I can see how it will aggragavate them into hitting hit like a back trolled wobbling plug. The pink bunny leeches I fish have movement but nothing like that free swinging rubber worm.

Wait maybe a pink rubber worm as a trailer on a bunny fly should be considered. Why do I think like this ? I know its when I get to the desparate steelhead fly fisherman stage it always happen to me thinking about drift gear and rubber worms etc... LOL
