Re: Chumugly
I had a friend that thought that Chums were pretty. We were fishing Pilchuck River one winter and he caught a spawned out Chum. I told him what it was but he didn't believe me. When he cleaned it the lower jaw fell off. But he didn't seem to care. He took it home and smoked it. Yuck. Later he told me that it didn't taste very good. YUcK again.
What is it with people that some will keep what they catch no matter what it looks like. To me if it isn't mint bright it goes back into the water.Yuck.
And another thing, it was turning a brown color. And he still kept it.

Re: Chumugly
He could rationalize shagging a whale. The lights were low, it was late, there weren't any witnesses left in the bar and he wouldn't be back here any time soon. What the hell?
But the next morning, as he rolled over away from the abyss that was the mattress compressed under her girth, he felt something sharp digging into his back and found what looked to be her upper plate. He reached to put it on the night stand and knocked her glass eye on the floor - it had dust bunnies stuck to it when he picked it up. One cup of her dingy yellowed bra covered the back of the chair, and the other spread on the floor like a hammock come unhung, the spandex having long ago failed its mission. He had made a serious error in judgment.
He heard the unmistakable sound of slow flatulence and before he could check himself, looked toward the source. The image of those pimple punctuated cottage cheese thighs peeking out from under stained gray sheets that were a mere four short hours ago caressing the two day old stubble on his cheeks burned into his mind. His eyes squeezed shut hard and his head shook, and he looked in the mirror - his whole face looked like a day old glazed doughnut.
A voice that sounded like gravel in a blender said, "Come on baby, lets go again."
"This", he said to himself, "is beyond bad, beyond worse...this is chumugly."

Re: Chumugly
Didn't read through all the posts but a lot of us have used the term (for a few years now) FUGLY. IE: she/he (better be politically correct here) is fugly meaning fuckin' ugly.... Term must originated from Australia always wondered where the term came from.

It was chumugly, and there would be no fishing this day!

Today 12/3/07 this came to pass, I am sorry to say, the rivers are indeed "Chumugly"!
I'd rather be lost on the river, than found in the city!
