Wait... I thought nymphing for steelhead was the root of all evil.As far as I can piece together from the thread: Rock and Roll is the root of all evil and fog. Dammit!
You and me both...Me, I write comments that I never post.
As a mere child, many many decades ago, I spent my formative years as a young Marine. f**k was pretty much the adjective of choice in almost every verbal exchange. I suppose I was irreparably damaged by the experience (among other things)....I missed a strike once, I said "Ah fu_k!
I lost a monster trout plenty of times, every time, I said, "Ah fu_k!"
I tripped on the riverbank a few times, every time, I said, "Ah fu_k!"
I starred into a few pools before and saw some beauties! I said, "Wholly sh_t!"
I've had a stellar fly fishing day before. I turned to my buddy and said, "What a good fu_king fishing day!"
I ended up smiling each time afterward. "Bless me Father, for I have sinned".
Have you lived under the Taliban? I'm glad for you that you don't live under taliban rules. I'm even more glad that I don't live under your rules, where vulgarity is required to make a better life. Too each his own. Your's is not mine and never will be.You remind me of what it would be like to live under the taliban.
Yes, without even a glimmer of doubt, swearing and vulgarity does, indeed make my life better...and quite satisfying!
Under my 'rules' profanity and vulgarity are optional; I don't care if you use such words or not. If I don't like the company I find myself keeping...I fully understand it's my obligation to leave said company, and find other company more to my liking. I'm not silly enough to believe I'll bend others to my preferences....I guess I'll just have to live with your disappointment in my moral fiber. Don't worry, I'm already (almost!) over my shame at not meeting your high standards.Have you lived under the Taliban? I'm glad for you that you don't live under taliban rules. I'm even more glad that I don't live under your rules, where vulgarity is required to make a better life. Too each his own. Your's is not mine and never will be.
I'd been meaning to tell you that your wading boots suck.Looking at this and other sites, a common theme is cropping up; passing judgement on others. I'm sick of it.
If you don't like the way I walk, talk, handle fish, how I cast, crush my barb, park my car, clean my site, release a fish, drink, start a fire, eat, fart (its ALWAYS funny), cuss, move through a run, read water, dress, my gear choice, wading boots etc, etc, etc...Let me know in-person or shut your hole.
Seeking solitude from a-holes is a full-time gig.
At 42, one should be a bit more worldly and understand how to and how not to deal with people.
Who's passing judgement? I'm not insulted by vulgarity. I just think it's stupid because it tells too much. If you get all uppity about it it's your problem...and we've just identified it.People, first and foremost, this site isn't going to change. We're all different, so no one has the right to pass judgement. People get butthurt too easily anymore. I'm not one for feminized males, so I'll gladly keep doing as I do.
only point proven thus far is that we all see the world a little differently.Thank you all for proving my point.
i dont feel this site is a place to swear. do it at home or somewhere private. i have visited this site much less in the last year other than the classified partially because of it. i do swear but you will never hear me. thanks, mike wYa know...this thread has really given me pause to reflect on my use of swear words....I'm clearly not using them often enough. I'll work on it. Thank you for the encouragement! I'm done here.
