I was there last night, and after it went for $2000, the guy who won it donated it back to the Wild Steelhead Coalition and it is going to be available for sale again.
That's what Jerry Siem said, for those who don't know he's the head rod designer at Sage, and also built this rod himself. The rod was custom built on a VT2 blank but is a one of a kind with lots of custom upgrades including jade inserts.
Actually its a VT-2 blank...that's coming from the guy that made the rod, but then again what would he know, LOL. Everything on it is custom, including the colors (Seahawks colors obviously).
I believe it's the 7130-4 VT2, and it comes in a VT2 Rod Tube, nylon coated with the zipper top....but maybe they just really liked the looks of a TCX in a VT-2 tube.
I don't know. I have three YCX spey/switch rods and the color of the blanks matches that in the picture but then, Sage can do whatever they want. The blanks are all grey when they are rolled and they are painted so it very well could be a VT-2 blank.
