I was actually worried that I would not get them completed in time. Once I got started, things just kind of clicked and I tied all at once. Have fun on the Yak.

    Anyfisih,

Your fllies arrived today and they look really good.

I just got my hands on a Bill Taylor Quadrate bamboo rod for the trip to the Yak. Looking forward to giving that puppy a work out.

    Hi Guys,

Sorry I haven't been around. Grampa passed away Friday morning and things have been in a bit of a turmoil since.

Randy, as always, I'm looking forward to seeing your take on these flies.

    Ron,
Sorry to hear about your grandpa. I'm sure that he was as good a person as you are and will surely be missed.
I got that pattern from Phil Rowley's still waters book. I'll post the recipe when it shows up in the gallery. Why don't you take a break bud and go fishing, We all know that you deserve it.

    Ron,

I took advantage of that extra week. I sent my flies out yesterday. Since the hackel on this pattern can be trimmed to various levels or even ommited to vary how high it floats, I sent two, one with full hackle and the other without hackle.

Maybe you guys can tell me which one works better for you.

I sent mine out yesterday too. They were done - just too lazy to get to the post office to mail.

Dylan, Theron, Tom and Wayne, Your flies arrived safe and sound. Unfortunately, my fishing trip had to be postponed until tomorrow through the 8th, thanks to a nasty encounter with a brown recluse. I now have a hole in my leg aboout the size of a quarter that's oozing puss, but I'm going fishing. I'll get the flies photo'd and mailed as soon as I get back.

Thanks for your patience this month.

I wont be able to get my emergers done for the swap. My work situation has been crazy days and night for nearly a month. I am sorry to let you down and sorry I wont be getting all of the great emergers you'all are tying. Work is the bane of the fisherman.
    Blessings

Ok I was going to send out my flies via fed ex today, but I guess I'll try the plane old snail mail for a change.

I hate to be a last-minute guy, but :beathead: stuff has just piled up; believe me, you don't want to know.

If I get something tied up today I'll let you know. But silence means y'all should go on without me. bawling:

    Howdy Fellers,

Pics are up and flies are in the mail. Another Marathon swap is fading into history as I type this. What a great job you guys did! Not only sticking through til the bitter end, but the quality of flies you submitted was amazing.

Our fly tyer/philosopher, Dylan, added another of his "What this fly taught me" bits on the back of his toe tag. Dylan, I wholeheartedly agree with this one.

Great job to everyone concerned. You made hosting this thing a breeze.

If your interested, there will be another of these things starting in October. Until then, go fishing!

Thank you all for the great swap. I learned alot in this swap. And especially thanks to Ron for being our swapmeister. I have to say I really appreciated all that you did this past few months. And your photos can make even my flies look good.

Thanks guys. It's easy to take pictures of well done flies, so it's been a snap for me. Meistering this swap was my pleasure indeed.
