I bought a few of the subject blems back in the 90's.
Buying blems is always a bit risky, but it's an accepted risk.....
I was fortunate that most of the blanks were straight and the taper and tips were pretty spot on to a first run blank of the same model.
Unfortunately, a couple were a bit off....... In this case, the blanks are 586-2 LLs and the tip diameter measures out to be 5.5 whereas the same model from the factory would measure out at 4.5
Question: How would this affect the 'action ' of the finished rod? I don't have a factory 586-2 LL to compare to my one finished 586-2 LL Blem. I don't want to taint any replies, so I'll not state what I've personally experienced from casting a 5WF Floater as well as a 24' sink tip on the one finished rod.
Thanks.
