I am looking for a high end reel for a new 9' 3 wt rod I just bought. Anyone have one that they want to sell?? I will need to keep the weight under 4 ounces in order to balance the rod.

Thanks, but those are a little rich for my blood. I'd like to keep it below $200.

What exactly do you mean by high end?

I've got a Lamson Velocity Hard Alox size 1 that I used on a 9'-0" 3wt Z-Axis for a few years. I have since sold the rod and may be interested in selling the reel. It has backing and a 3wt line on it. I believe it is SA sharkskin but I don't remember. I always buy top dollar line. The reel was used (didn't sit on a shelf) but is fully functional. I can send pictures if you are interested in it. I don't have the lamson reel "bag" anymore.

I would be looking for $150 shipped, paid via paypal, for the reel/backing/line.

    Thanks

How about an Abel TR1? I have a gold one used a couple times and price would be $185. Send me a PM for pictures if interested.

The Lamson Velocity and the TR1 are both a tad on the heavy side for this rod, I fear. Thanks for the offers, though.

So, how about some examples of what might work for you? Brand, model, size, large arbor or standard arbor, etc.?

I would be very happy to find a Galvan Spoke S-3 reel at 3.6 oz. Also a Nautilus FWX 3/4 at 3.6 oz. Or an early Evolution 0 at 3.4 oz.

Given the need for light weight, a standard arbor might be preferable.

For 99 bucks you can get a new orvis battenkill and it appears to fit your requirement.

I called Michael and apparently the 3 inch Hardy's are gone. The ones that they had left were all a little big for my purposes. I really do appreciate your attempt to help me out!
