My meticulous, fastidious Alaska dentist brother wants to sell some of his rods. They are beautiful--truly. Used rods look near new, and many are new/unused.

Know nothing about him. But there are many people who do not want to give bank info to paypal and pay 4% transaction fees. If you have a business that accepsts credit cards and you can do it for 2%??? Interesting to have several of the same rod never used. this ad is also listed on speypages.

From first hand experience I can assure you Bob is a stand up guy. He's new here, but a well respected member of the speypages and a solid contributor to the flyfishing world.

My recommendation is that if you have questions regarding a specific rod, contact him via PM and ask.

iagree While I don't know him personally, I have seen him on Speypages for a long time and he has over 1000+ posts over there. Just ask and he'll get back to you promptly.

  11. I checked out his posts on Speypages and he provided me with his contact information. I like the idea of an Ebay type rating for regular contributors and gear sellers so that would be buyers have an idea if seller are legit or not. Obviously, due to the sheer quantity and the duplicity of the gear, it seems bogus, but I guess its just alot of gear.

    Trustworthy

Not that you guys know me that well, but I know Bob personally and can tell you he is definitely a stand up guy. He's a big contributor to the spey community, just ask around, he's known by Way Yin, Simon Gawsworth, etc. He's a successful business owner and probably just passing good deals along to fellow flyfishers....

I've actually run into a number of people who have collections this size, also to the point of having doubles of their favorite rods. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from these guys.

To answer some questions in this thread:

Rods are Loomis, Sage, T&T factory built with factory sock and metal tube [except two Loomis rods have PVC / cloth factory Loomis zipper top tube].

    Why not credit cards?

Credit cards are processed through my business. LD has it right.

I do not accept PayPal because of my personal experience with PayPal's lack of security and hacker intruders representing themselves as PayPal.

Loomis 8' 3-weight rods are 2-piece, and are not 8' 3" as originally listed. The 9-foot 3-weight rods are also 2-piece.

    Sage RPLXi rods are 3-piece.

Regarding excellent pricing, often a good deal is just that. Anyone not satisfied with one of these rods may return it in the same condition in which it was received for a refund of purchase price. All one risks is freight charges.

    9 rods sold, 29 remain.

You don't know very many dentists or orthodontists do you:D:eek:, if you did the question wouldn't even occur. Those I know I could make a living managing their vehicle turnover and they've sure earned what they've got. A barn per hobby is one bud's average whether the hobby's hunting/flyfishing/oceanfishing/motorsports/woodworking/floatplanes (I'm sure I'm missing one of his hobbies). Price is simply to sell fairly I'm sure.

Bob's very legit, take it or leave it. He gave his email in very first post/not sure why many go to PM's/emails direct and simpler for most. Quick google check would show list elsewhere and you can see long proven history their (for those new on assessing history of a buysell poster that's one quick route).

I'm just glad the list doesn't have my wishlist.....back to being relaxed now:)

Nice to see them going back into circulation.

I've actually printed this document off and given it to my wife to refute her periodic assertions that I own to much fly fishing gear. :p
