    Hi everyone,

I am relatively new here, and thus far you all have been very helpful when I have asked questions and sought advice. I have not always had the chance to employ your ideas or hit the spots you suggest, but this time around the itch is so bad I've got to do something this weekend!

So here's the question: I've got tomorrow, Thursday 7/3 thru Sunday 7/6 off and have to get out of Seattle and go fishing!! But with river flows still pretty ridiculous, what is fishable? Following are my criteria:

    1) Brand new Sage Fli 5WT ready for it's first fish!
    2) Leave Seattle Thursday AM, willing to do some driving but be back Sunday (4 days)
    3) No boat/watercraft (possibly willing to rent one for a day?)
    4) Prefer to target Trout (or whatever the 5 WT can handle)
    5) Camping/hiking is welcome
    6) Wife will be coming along so other activities around would be helpful

We've already nixed the Yakima/Naches/Tieton area since we were there around Memorial Day. The Peninsula? Oregon? Idaho? Southeast WA?

Let's hear some ideas! I know others out there on the board that are whining about high flows are also wondering where they can really go to not only get a line wet but have reasonable conditions and the chance to catch some fish. So instead of the rants and whines about what we can't do and where we can't go, how about some ideas about what we can do and where we can fish?

    In advance, you guys rock.

    Cheers and thanks,

    Xander

Bend. Not too far for a 4 day weekend and enough local options to keep both of you busy. I'd call the Riffle Fly shop for info. Every time I go, something cool is happening on the waters around there.

Bend eh? It's been a couple years since I've been down there and we both love that area.

1 Vote for Bend it is!

    Where else?
