Anti-bear songs

Over in another thread, Old Man, mentions singing outloud while alone in the woods, forest or whatever as a way to keep from having a bad experience with Mr. Bear.

So I was wondering what songs might be good for hollerin' as you walked on the wild side?

Here are a few that come to mind. I'm sure everyone has their own favorite. But for the sake of tradition and all, they should be old stand-bys that you can really YELL out, like.....

"She'll be comin' round the Mountain, when she comes-YE-HA!"
"Jimmy crack-corn, and I DON"T CARE!"
"Oh may darlin', oh my darlin', oh my darlin' CLEMENTINE!"
"POP GOES THE WEASEL!"
"When the Saint's go marchin'IN!" (for you religious folks)

You don't really have to know all the words, just the yellin' parts will do.

Just so this qualifies as a fishing post. The only reason to do this is so you'll live long enough to tell the lies about all the great fish you caught. Well, I know most of you guy's always tell the absolute truth about your fishing exploits-ha ha!
:rofl ;)

Well, between an approaching bear that 'needed' some defensive attention and a fishing partner singing "POP GOES THE WEASEL!"... Lets just say I would consider that to be a target rich environment.

I dunno, but I imagin that just about any rap, of any sort would probably work to either scare them away or make them wanna puke so bad that they'll leave you alone. Shy of that maybe they'd just feel sorry for you and not eat you all at once:bawling

Cris,

LOL!

Great observation. I'd go with that! Might be the best place to empty that can of pepper spray too!

"The ants go marching 1 by 1, who rah, who rah"

"99 fishermen in a stream ,who rah,
The bear comes down and knocks 1 around,
98 fishermen in a stream, who rah"

the last one is sung to "99 bottles of beer on the wall"

I think I'll be safe from here... me singing anything should suffice to give me a generous living-creature free perimeter - I believe I have the whole solitude thing solved here.
Thanks Pops!

I forgot what I was supposed to remember.

Well with all you guys singing and when I go to my favorite stream I'll know you are from this site and I'll sing along and be pleased to meet yeah.

Just think if there are two or more you can just sing Row,Row,Row your boat.................

Just a thought.

Cowboy songs are good:
Red River Valley.
Home on the Range
Ghost Riders in the Sky.
Santa Claus is Coming to Town.
Oh, I Had a Horse Named Nancy.
Down in the Valley.
How I Hate that Old Red.

You can always make up a few but remember at all times:
Run, Run, Run Your Big Boatass Out of Here.

Not only does A-HA's "Take on me provide a good rhythym for excellent night fishing, but I keeps away bears too. Lately, R. Kelly's "Remix to Ignition" has been a good streamer stripping rhythym as well. Wonder if its bear-proof or if it creates bear attacks. I'll watch the paper for bear attacks and find out which one you tested the theory.
