"Skagit Master" Anybody Seen it Yet ?

I was disappointed in the amount of time spent on the grass. More demo's on the water would make it simpler to understand the casts. I also agree about not being able to navigate scenes being frustrating.

With that said, I think there is a lot of info to be gleaned from watching it.

I have been casting a Scandi line for years, so this winter, I put on a compact Skagit, heavy tip and big fly for the first time. I watched Ed's DVD a couple times, went fishing, visualized what I saw and did it. That makes a good video in my book. I don't think Ed's video is made for beginning speycasters. It is a style of speycast that is best accomplished by those that have learned the "touch and goes." I recommend "Skagit Master" to anyone who wants to learn this style of casting.

This guy had it totally right. Whoever the hell he is.
seriously. You want to fish right, hit the cast anywhere, you need to study this video.

Those who think skagit isn't as artful as other styles haven't fished it enough.

Mike Kinney doesn't have a dvd, as much as we would all love to see one. And I'm sure not once has Ed ever claimed to be "better" than Mike. Both guys are awesome and Ed's dvd is informative and worth watching. Enough of the " who is better". These are people, not rods.

lucky you... at least there's fish in your rivers! LOL

maybe you can get out to a PNW clave sometime, and some great casters go to MW claves too, I hear.

Yeah, we are lucky with our numbers, and we get to fish them without restrictions. I'm setting my sites on one of the mich. or new york claves for now. I sure hope someday i'll make it to the pnw.....

I'm gonna avoid the pissing match with fishemhard.

But back to the thread..... Watch Skagit Master! It's good, not much fish porn, but i thought the casting info was valuable.
