I built this smaller glass rod for some of my local trout waters. Trying to go for a classic look for this build so I went with a orange twist thread with a single turn silver tip to accent the chrome snake guides. For the reel seat I got a hold of Ron from South west custom rods and went with nickle Down locking Lemke hardware. I turned a chunk of Mango for the insert to match the browns in the build

Great build Matthew! is that another one of those blanks we talked about? Also with that hardware, do you need to mortise the insert or just turn it round?

I'm glad you guys like it. I have been using pro kote for all of my thread finish. It takes a bit longer to harden but I really like it's leveling.
