Big thanks to Tim who has been giving me a running tutorial on a certain West-side lake for several weeks as I sought to get my first Brown in Washington. I've got little experience on still-water, especially in the winter. Reached out to Tim for some pointers and he's been super generous and patient. Paid off this afternoon with a couple of lovely fish and and inordinate amount of satisfaction for me.

I can't wait to get the copy of his book that I pre-ordered.

Congrats on the gorgeous browns! I've yet to catch a brown.....
i'm looking forward to that book as well gary.

there are more browns available on this side of the mountains than i thought before i got active on WFF. once i noticed some older posts about them, did a little stocking research, and reached out to a couple of friendly stillwater pros here like tim, i was amazed how close they could be had. had to do my homework but saturday was only my second outing to target them and while a couple fish is nothing to really trumpet about, it was a nice conquest for me. i know that without tim's tips it would have taken me many more outings and hours to find success. i've caught them on gear in montana, and by hand in austria, but these were my first on the fly and in washington.
