NFR - SnoPUD's Open House for Dam on S.Fork Skykomish

On Wed and Thurs evenings of this week, the Snohomish County PUD will hold "open houses" to show off their latest plans for a hydro power plant, and a takeover of funding of the trap and haul, on the S. Fork of the Skykomish River. The Sky River is one of only four free-flowing rivers in the State. The proposed site is downstream from Eagle Falls and upstream from the confluence with the N. Fork. Time and place info on the meetings, and on the proposed project, is here:
SnoPUD plans to run the meetings like a trade show, without opportunity to comment in a general forum. They will have booths set up, and you can go from booth to booth and submit comments in writing on cards. We have heard that at least one of the PUD Commissioners might be at the meeting on Wed in Everett. People opposed to this plan are going to wear something that is "Sky" Blue (Sky of course is short for Skykomish) to make a visible statement of opposition since we won't be able to voice our opposition. Hope to see some people from the fishing community there, and hope to see them wearing an article of clothing that is Sky Blue. For more information, please visit Thanks.
