    I love those ALPS seats! I've been wanting to build a switch around one. By the way, that's when you know you're too far in; when you are designing a rod around a reel seat...:rofl:

    By the way, did you refinish that blank to make it gloss? Just wondering because I thought the RX7's only came in gloss green and matte charcoal.

    I did the same thing on an RX7 7wt. Only I used the black and gold ALPS and then black thread with gold trim wraps. Looked great.

    I put the alps seat in silver on my 690-4 dancraft FT with silver single foot guides, black wraps, silver accents. Great seat.

    Awesome work.

    I haven't used any of the alps seats on my fly rods, but they do look good. I do used a lot of the 16's on my downrigger/mooching rods. Great reel seats.
