Time for some Hemipterics. Saw this on a Kiwi site; took a wag on the sequence.

hook - Mustad 94840 #8
thread - UTC 140 tan
abdomen - caribou spun/clipped
head - 2mm foam tan
eye - foam cylinder
legs - medium rubber brown
indicator - Congo Hair white
hackle - ginger/grizzly

mash barb, start thread at the back end

clean a clump of caribou, trim tips; 2 soft loops, let it spin, then pack it

repeat

and again; tie off thread and trim

flip it, lay a razor blade on the eye (to establish the underside) and push straight back

trim to shape

re-start thread, tie in a foam strip (a little more than gap width) facing back

poke a hole where the hook eye intersects; pull foam up 'till the eye pokes through and tie down at eye

brush a little Super Glue on the inside, insert foam cylinder and tie down

tie in a hank of CH

trim tag end of foam and eyes; post and tie in hackle (shiny side out, cup side up)

tie in legs

wrap hackle, tie of at the base of post; pull hackle/post back, half hitch at back of head, SHHAN

trim indicator and legs

Scott
