Over the course of my life and military career I have been involved in and veiewed numerous ceremonies and graduations but nothing prepared me for the swell of pride I felt this weekend when I watched my son walk out on the drill floor this weekend in Great Lakes IL during his graduation from Navy basic training where he became one of the Navy's newest members. It's almost impossible for me to express in words how I felt then or now but I can tell you it's one of those moments in life that I will never forget.

God bless our service men and women around the world, may they always be safe.
