Your pup looks almost as tired as I feel any time I hunt them suckers!!! I have learned that the first time you hunt chuckars for fun....after that it's for revenge!!!!

    ahh yes, the devil's bird

Nice work there.....God I hate those birds, haaaaate em....

Work your ass off moving up a cliff face only to get to the top and have them fly back from where you came from without a shot.....I have never been so happy to shoot one...just one

I havn't been out yet this year ( Going next weekend, been chas'n roosters lately) , these are last years birds. I expect a good hatch though this year , we had good moisture ( For Wyo) , hopefully at the right time. Yup, chucks aint for the faint of heart...
I got hooked on them a few years ago, And I hunt 'em like they stole money from me, and the only guy I can find to hunt those tough little suckers with me is the yellow guy in the pics, my Lab , Sammy ! He's one tough Lab , and a hell of a buddy . Some of the country we have out here is almost un-navigable it's so steep ... But , that's sometimes where the birds are... So down in we go... It's so much nicer when they stay on the tops!
Chukars get in your soul... I don't think they ever leave...
AWSOME LITTLE BIRDS !!:thumb: One of the best dogs I ever hunted chukars with was my Redbone hound Benny ... No joke, he loved to hunt them, and was damn good at it. Killed lots of birds over him. He was a great one!
