Aftershaft leech

    For anyone else who wonders what to do with the philoplume (aftershaft) feathers left over from tying larger soft hackles like Carey’s, six packs, olive willies, etc. I found the recipe for this pattern in Fly Patterns for Stillwaters by Phil Rowley. Another alternative to a bugger.

    Nice tie TP!
    I tie and fish a black (minus the long hackles) version w/silver tungbead head. Very effective fly.
