talked to the wife she told me that maybe i will get one for birthday.... so either she has already got me one or will.... So what is the better one?? I, II??
For fresh water and local salt water the... there probably won't be a whole lot of difference. But ascetically speaking and for true saltwater adventures the Alpha II is vastly superior.
The alpha 1 in size 9/10 has worked out well for me. Balances my 13' 7/8 deer creek perfectly and the drag survived a punishing session with a chrome, sea liced springer. I've never seen a drag rip like that. After I released the fish and stepped back out I remember stripping line off my reel and being shocked how buried the drag was at the end of the fight. Never slipped or hesitated. Pretty impressed! Can't speak to longevity or saltwater exposure but I'm confident for NW swinging at that price point that reel is money well spent.
I use a 9/10 on my Deer Creek 7/8. It does balance nicely. I haven't hooked any fish on it yet but then, I would have to get out and fish it to do that. Soon.
sandspanker, I made it known about 3 months ago my demand was outgrowing my supply it was taking sometime filling that gap. Unfortunately growing pains can have its downfall. This is all takin care of with the thanks of Evan helping out.
I'm pretty happy that my orders are going out on normal time now. The issue with the 6 month thing was a xmas special that I did. Now, I regret making that offer. The deal was not suppose to be everything all at once. It was suppose to be throughout 2011 to give those people a chance to get any new products that I am releasing thoughout the year. This was the intention of the special. However, it backfired on me. Rookie mistake.
The only reel that is not avaible right now is the Green 5/7 Trout reel due to it taking a bit longer to make. The website reflects that.
Thank you,
Justin
