Just purchased an Allen SS 1088-4 10' 8", 8 wt switch from a member. This will be my steelhead stick. I've been fishing single handers in Alaska for the last 3 years, and this spey/switch thing is new to me. I'm pretty excited about getting it out on the water, but I need to know what grain of line to put on this thing. I've decided on going with the scientific anglers skagit extreme head multi tip setup if that is the right thing for this rod. (According to what I have read so far). I would prefer to stick with scientific anglers if at all possible.
Does anyone have one of these rods with the line figured out on it? I talked to Justin @ Allen Fly Fishing and he did not have a grain window for this rod. Any suggestions would be helpful or some casting lessons... I'll buy beer :thumb:
