Planning a last minute overnight camping trip with my son (who is seven). My thought is to hike into Lake Anne (near washington pass) and stay the night. My hopes were to also get him into position to catch his first fish. Has anyone fished this lake before? Any other suggestions?

Lake Ann is a pretty little lake with great fishing for lots of small, willing westslope cutties. Great place to keep a few if you want to eat some. You should give the Methow Valley Ranger District a call or check nwhikers and see if someone has a trip report. There's still a lot of snow in the high country.

If you camp, make sure to keep a clean camp and hang your food. There have been some bear problems there in the past.
