That's a long drive to now go walking in the rain. I suppose I could break out the maps and start hiking in some spots for next time. Sometimes you roll the dice and, snake eyes.
I say that you head out there and give it a shot. My buddies and I had our annual steelheading/camping trip on the OP the week of 2/18-2/25 and on the first day the Hoh jumped up to 4k+ and two days later it jumped up to 9k+. We still found fish and clear water, you just need to know where to look.
Marked up the map with spots to follow up with. All the rivers I saw today were choco'd. Nice day for a hike though. Did a couple miles along the beach as well.
That's been my luck (or lack of) this year too. So far I've been blown out of every overnight trip. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I even make it out there this year...
