This is a Hook and Hackle Xi blank. I cobbled together decent components when I found a good deal. It turned out fairly nice. REC cork, H&H guides, REC reel seat with a rose wood insert.
It is a 9' 5wt. Medium fast (not real fast). I have only cast it in the park for a short time. I have a feeling this might be a better fishing rod than a parking lot rod. I cast a Rio Gold and an SA Ultra 4 on it. Seemed to prefer the Ultra 4 line. Mathew, thanks for the comment. I really struggled with the finish on my first few rods. Not the quality of some of the rods posted here, but getting better. It is fun to take a rod and some components and turn it into something functional and nice looking.
