Got out for a couple hours late this afternoon and the tide was about half way in. It was a new beach for me so I wasn't sure how it would fish. I didn't have any action fishing under the surface for the first hour so I decided to go on top. Moving down the beach at a slow but consistent speed I noticed the beach getting shallow and in turn the current picking up. Sure enough about 1/4 of the way into the faster water an aggressive fish pummeled my fly. It wasn't huge but sure was fun.

It felt good to release that fish while all those commuters were stuck in traffic watching me!! The fishing is only going to get better and I can't wait!

Nice SW. Glad a few of us are getting out there. Things should pick up in a month or two. Fall fishing is "best" in my book tho. I've caught some dandy cutthroats in early Spring also. Go gett'em!
