I have a friend coming out to visit from New Hampshire just to go fly fishing for steelhead. I have never fished for steelhead before so except for the fact that I know where we want to fish I have little idea how. He and I are both interested in Hoh, Sol Duc and any OP river that produces good amounts of wild Steelhead. So my friend has offered to pay for a guide, but has tasked me to locate one. Now does any one have any suggestions as to reliable guides that you have either heard about or personally used? Also somewhat reasonalby price and friendly. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you, -Nick

If you want OP experts, guys who live on and fish the peninsula every day, try Pat Graham or Gordy Gracey at http://www.olympicpeninsula-fishing-guides.com/ or http://www.fishingforkswashington.com/

These guys can show you both how to fish and where to fish. Both are excellent flyfishers and speycasters, although they do not do that exclusively.

Best of all, for the above they are extremely affordable. In fact, they are the most affordable steelhead guides I know.

If I were going to do the OP thing I would definately get ahold of Bob Triggs! I believe he specializes in fly trips, but correct me if I am wrong.

Im not sure about Skinny's territory, but he might be an option also?? Steve (edit:aka Skinny from wff.com) is a excellent choice as well!!!

i am from the dry side and would suggest to hire a different guide for 2-3-4-5-6 days. also get a list of people who went with all the guides mentioned and talk with them. if they are a flyfishing guide that is a good start. wish i could go with you but i have to educate the fish on the dry side.

i would definetely recommend JD Love (360)327-3772 or Dave Steinbaugh @ Waters West (360) 417-0937. imo, you cannot do better.
