Any reports from Lake Lenore this fall?

My dad and his buddy went last year and ended up arriving during the turnover . . . . not a great day.

Thinking about going one more time before it closes?

    Thoughts?

Talked to a couple of gear guys that hit it on Saturday and they didn't get a bump. Not sure that helps.

Call the fly shop in Ephrata. They are helpful.

For the past few weeks every time I've gone by 6 to 10 cars, bank fishing Russians. Looks like they're getting fish because some are the same cars daily. Water looks good and probably worth a try but I haven't heard any reports.

Fished it last week around the south island. Dry Falls in the morning then an afternoon a couple hours on Lenore. Landed one small one and had a couple other light takes. The reports I've heard are 'not as many fish as in past years, but one's being caught are large'. I did see a few rises, but once the sun went off the lake it seemed to slow down. If you give the Desert Angler a call, Darc is always helpful; suggest paying back by a stop at the fly shop.

Might be giving it a shot in a week or so. We'll watch the weather and I'll post a report wherever I end up fishing.

Been workin' too much and got the itch to fish . . . . .

    Thanks for the replies

Went out to Lenore the day after thanksgiving. Fished the south end and kicked my guts out around the south island.

Hooked one pretty 16" fish. Didn't see another one.

I'll have to put my time in for the fall fishing up there.

Hope you all have been getting out to fish.

Lenore is a really hot and cold lake...I've only fished it a couple of times in fall with nothing to show for my efforts.
