By pure good luck I was able to get a 11' 9wt(educated guess here) glass blank and had that built up into a 6/7 'switch rod.' Total delight to cast and fish. Run the Internent into the ground looking for additional blanks this length (or longer) with 'no joy.' Any thoughts? fae
CTS over New Zealand can customize your glass blank for you, 10' 11' 12' as you wish... Their blanks are exceptional good quality and on the $200 ish range
Exactly! Mr. Walker sent me a 10' walker vintage, and that is a real blast to fish with!! Thank you sir!! : )
Fred, Try Speyco. Tim lists a 12' 6wt fiberglass spey rod there, and perhaps he'd work with you on a blank of a size you'd like?
Scott used to make the "Fiberhammer", but it was more of a switch rod: http://www.deneki.com/2010/01/scott-fiberhammer-review/ This guy makes similar rods now, I think up to 10'6": http://www.graywolfrods.com/Fiberglass_Fly_Rods.html I have never heard of a glass rod longer than that being made today.
C Farlow made a 12'6" glass spey and have seen a couple old Eagle Claw 14' glass spey rods years ago.
